About me
My passion for film and television has been constant throughout my life. It led me to my first job working at Blockbusters, then on to study Film Production at university and subsequently to work for two of the largest post production facilities in London.
My degree gave me an excellent grounding in all areas of film such as cinema history, screenwriting, location and studio filming procedures, and a working knowledge of film equipment. I decided to specialise in editing- a field which I have been working in ever since.
My most recent role was at Evolutions TV Post Production where I coordinated and assisted in the post-production of television programs and adverts. I am confident in doing exports, both tape and tapeless conforms and pre grades using major editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer. I also have strong VT skills making final deliverables using SRs and Digibeta decks, amongst others. I am a team player and have built good relationships with clients and editors in order to help them achieve their goals. I am accustomed to working to tight deadlines and to the client’s brief and I enjoyed the variety of projects and people that I encountered. I was regularly assigned to coordinate projects from the first rushes arriving from set to delivering the final master that goes on to be broadcast. I have also worked on location using the programs Cinegy and Forscene, which enables streams of footage to logged and transcribed.
Similarly, my previous job at Envy Post Production enabled me to support the editing process through media management and troubleshooting. I also was in charge of archiving and ingesting many different tapeless and tape based camera formats. At both companies I used the program ScheduALL to manage jobs and source media using the library system.
Outside of company hours I have been the editor on several short films and music videos, working with the directors to help realise their vision. Although I have gained an in-depth knowledge of the post-production process, I am eager to move into a more rewarding and creative position where I would have more control over the look and feel of the content I am producing.
