About me
I have always had a keen interest in performing arts, in particular Musical Theatre and Singing. My training began at the age of 12 at Rox School of Dance and Drama, where I attended classes regularly every Saturday for 3 hours in the afternoon, following football training in the morning. I began formal singing lessons within the school day, aged 13 and went on to gain grade 6 by Christmas of my final year at college. I have recently gained a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts from The University of Gloucestershire. As a performer I a, always committed, full of energy and happy to do anything that a writer/director asks of me. I am organised and logical which allows me to perform well in backstage roles and keep a calm head in stressful situations. My vocal range is Alto, and I have had the opportunity to be trained in musical theatre, classical and pop. Additionally my classical range is broader allowing me to sing descants in ensemble pieces of work. My dance styles include, jazz (silver award), conte
mporary (B at A level) and Musical Theatre, and I have some limited tap and ballet experience.Non-performing theatre experience includes work as a Deputy Stage Manager with Simon Grey (MD) and “Musical Theatre 2000”. I have also worked with Mike Medway (Lighting tech) in London, also as Deputy Stage Manager. Whilst a student I was able to enjoy regular dance training with Jason Keenan-Smith BA (LCDS the Place), MA (Roehampton) and Sue James, PGCE (Chelsea Dance, Brighton). I have also had workshop experience with professional companies A.C.E dance, Penny and Jules dance and Frantic Assembly. I have been lucky enough to perform in a variety of locations/theatres including, Brighton Bandstand and beach, Brighton Dome and Corn Exchange, The Old Market Theatre Brighton, The Barn Theatre Southwick, Blatchington Mill Theatre Hove, White Rock Theatre Hastings, The Congress Theatre Eastbourne, The Ashcroft Theatre Croydon, Portsmouth Guildhall and Gloucester Cathedral.
My future hopes include the chance to perform on the West End stage. However, I am not limited to performance roles alone and would very much like to work backstage and in larger performing arts events such as The Brighton Festival or Big Dance.
