About me
I have just completed my final year studying at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Swansea.Over the past three years, I have had the opportunity of developing skills and knowledge in all
areas of a film and television production. This time has encouraged me to develop my team
working and communication skills, which is a crucial part in this environment.
This course has also made me realise that my main area of interest is Cinematography as this
creative area of filmmaking is a craft that can enhance emotions and can strengthen a plot. The
skill of a Cinematographer will communicate the characters dreams, hopes and despair to the
audience. This complex and challenging role is one that I love being a part of. As I have now
come to the end of my University education, I am looking to commence my professional career.
However I am looking for any vacancy or work experience that will assist in my career
development in order to gain a job in an industry that I am passionate about. I would love to be
given the opportunity of beginning a traineeship in any department that will allow me to
develop further in this industry.
I have a real desire to learn and develop my skills in order to commence a career in the film and
television industry.

Commercial Experience
Tinopolis – 4th, 16th and 17th July 2018
Work Experience
• Working alongside the camera crew.
• Filming on location for an upcoming series on gardens.
This experience was one where I was able to go out on location with a small crew and assist in helping in any aspect of the filming of ‘Gerddi Cymru’. I was given the opportunity of assisting the cameraman with setting up shots, observed the presenter interviewing the owners who discussed their love of gardening and learnt how to become creative in filming their flowers, vegetable garden and their garden features in an appealing way. This experience allowed me to extend my knowledge on their equipment used during this project and gave me an insight into the pressures involved in producing a gardening TV program. This welsh based program also enabled me to make good use of my welsh language skills and further extended my experience.

Work Experience
• Shadowing the camera department
• Had training with the camera trainees of their daily routines
• Observed how a series was being produced
I have been very fortunate to be given the opportunity of a weeks work experience with Wolf Studio Wales. This week gave me valuable experience of how camera trainees and the department work, as they encouraged me to undertake their role under supervision. It also allowed me to see exactly how a production team worked as a whole in order to produce a high quality series. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, which has again fired my desire to follow a career path of a Cinematographer.

Bay TV – September 2015 – January 2016
Work Experience
• Creation of mock television programs.
• Experience of Live footage.
• Setting the scene.
In my second year of University, I undertook work experience with Bay TV in order to gain knowledge and understanding of all the equipment that is used for a television production. During this period, I had the opportunity of doing mock programmes with my group, which allowed me to understand how a team would work efficiently in order to get live footage on television on time. I was able to overlook a live show with Bay TV in order to have a better understanding of how it all worked. It also allowed me to understand the importance of each team member as without one, the whole production fails. I also had the opportunity with my group to create and dress a set that was most relevant for a specific television program. This meant dressing a set that specifically aimed towards news programmes, chat shows, interviews etc. This experience was one that was beneficial to understanding how these types of programs work.
Tinopolis Llanelli – August 2013
Work Experience
• Camerawork
• Editing
• Set Design
• Scripting for weather reports
• Production Control Room (SCR/Gallery)
During sixth form, I had the opportunity in undertaking work experience with the Welsh production company Tinopolis in Llanelli. Within this time, I had the opportunity of undertaking roles such as camerawork and editing with assistance, set design and scripting for weather reports. I also had the chance to sit in the Gallery at it’s busiest time in which taught me how prepared a team must be, as running a program from a control room can be very hectic.

• I have always loved art as I am a very creative individual and developed this skill by gaining a GCSE and an A level in the subject. In order to become more creative, I experimented by combining photography with my artwork in order to capture and play around with different images and emotions. During my time at University, I continued to experiment and develop moving images through research and practice. I have my own DSLR camera and love going out experimenting with photography and film to improve my skills.

• My other interests include keeping fit, by going to the local gym regularly and skiing during the winter season. In 2014 I completed the Cardiff Half Marathon, which was a goal I was pleased I could achieve. Skiing is something I have done since I was 7 years old and one that is great fun and exciting. Over the years we have taken new members of the family skiing and I’ve enjoyed attempting to teach them. This has usually resulted in lots of laughter and creating lifelong memories.
