Something About Bindis

A filmic journey based on true events, uses a variety of cinematic styles to draw a parallel between the common garden bindi weed and astrocytoma brain cancer cells.

Val Athanassiou plays Jake in a deeply moving true story adapted from an award-winning stage-play exploring the sudden and devastating effects of brain cancer using the Bindie weed as a metaphor. ‘Something about Bindis’ screenplay is based on the original stageplay by Karen Eastwood that was performed at Newcastle Short & Sweet 2010 where it won Best Overall Play. Top Ten finalist in Cause Film Festival 2015.
