Thought I would mention how sad it is to hear the new of Heath Ledger's death this evening.
It's a real loss to the film world. So sad to hear of such a young person being lost so soon.
It is really sad. A loss of life at such a young age is always a shock. Thoughts to his family and friends.

i wonder how Mary Kate Olsen will feel when she returns to her house and finds it taped off!
i really really felt for this guy cos hes roughly the same age as me and he is so talented and loved by so many fans. its such a Fooking shame that he had to ruin everything with drugs. such a shame.
The reports I've read have said he was found with sleeping pills.
It is such a tragic shame. I really admired him as an actor.

Aussie reports say it was an accidental overdoes on prescription meds.

it is a huge loss of a great young talent - am really shocked by it. Not sure i really want to see "The Drak Knight" when it gets a release now - it'll be really weird to see him eing his vibrant self on screen, and having died so tragically young.

So shocking. Couldn't quite believe it was true at first. What a real loss for everyone close to him and all his fans worldwide. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Found out last night as soon as it happened.. totally shocked. He really was very talented and I just feel so sorry for his family and daughter.

Its such terrible news, such a complete waste of a sucessfull actor. A real tragedy for his family.
This post was the first I'd heard and the news has completely shocked me. I hope the media don't turn it into a big scoop and that those who knew and loved him will be allowed to deal with their grief in peace.

Bizarre as it may sound, Heath was the catalyst for me taking up acting 6 years ago (long story!) so I am a bit stunned at the news. Also appalled at the media circus desperate to get a picture of his body and speculating on cause of death. Leave him alone. RIP
I agree.. Obvioulsy they want to know whast happened but having video footage of his body being romoved I thought was in poor taste.

Couldn't agree more. I found it distressing so can't imagine how those close to him would find it seeing the bodybag. And already the mud-slinging has begun, makes me sick.

One thing I heard was his Parents only found out though the media, how devastating!
It's always so strange when a tragedy like this happens. I always expected to see him grow into a Paul Newman type character. You just take it for granted that someone you've grown up seeing will be around until they're old and grey.
Let's just hope (and hope may be all we have on this) that the press can show some respect and make sure we don't support any disrespect by hunting for pictures that should never have been taken.

I didn't know he was only 28. It's so sad. I feel that living in hollywood and living with the pressures of high profile work, does really tip people over the edge.
Its not only Hollywood. Look at the celebs in this country.. they arent exactly stable.
Its not the fame or celebrity- its hurting, damaged people who havent resolved their personal demons and fame etc feeds the pressure and its exposes the deepest wounds and insecurites- like where they get thier affirmation from and their sense of worth... its a plight that is universal. We all have it.
Deeply sad.
