POSITION PURPOSE The Venue Technician is a new role that will provide technical, operational and logistical assistance for the delivery of events and activities taking place at the Sydney Dance Company Wharf Studios and partner venues. The role will contribute to the success and smooth delivery of a wide variety of events and activities such as internal and external rehearsals, auditions, dance classes, dinners, cocktail functions, galas, fundraisers, festivals, performances, meetings, digital streaming, film shoots and venue hires.Working across Sydney Dance Company’s multiple departments, the role will assist with technical aspects of the bump in and bump out of events including lighting, sound, presentation and video conferencing systems, equipment and furniture set up and maintenance, dance vinyl and other flooring preparation, accepting site deliveries, liaise with suppliers, supporting waste and cleaning requirements, and other tasks as required under the supervision of the Event and Venue Hire Manager.  The Venue Technician will actively participate in venue maintenance and the ongoing Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures of Sydney Dance Company. This position is an excellent opportunity for an early career or recently graduated and motivated technician who has outstanding planning, coordination and problem-solving skills with a desire to develop a career in venue and performance technical production processes. The role is primarily hands-on and will often involve working as part of a team across evenings or weekends.
