About me
Being a creative from a young age I entered into many wearable art and design competitions where I could explore my creative side. I left my country town at 19 and move to Melbourne to attend university at Academy of Design Australia were I studied a Bachelor of Design Arts majoring in Fashion Design and graduated in 2014. From here I learnt a wide range of skills. I have a passion for costume design and all the details that are incorporated into each costume, along with an extensive historical fashion knowledge. I specialise in hand finishing and fabric manipulation, with creating a whole look.Recently returned from America working for French Woods Festival of Performing Arts, which his a performing arts summer camp in the Costume Department, within in this role I completely costume design and produced 7 full scale theatrical productions in 3 months. The productions had casts of approx. 20-60 children ranging in ages from 8 – 18. Within the role in the costume shop I had to plan and design the costumes from the script and direction of each production from the Director and Production team. From there I pulled or created a full wardrobe for each production and also working the theatre dressing for each performance. As well as the 7 productions I took lead on, I was also 2nd in charge assisting on over 10 productions.
Prior to that employment I worked for many Bridal Companies in Sales along with Gown fitting and alterations specialising in Hand finishing..
Almost 10 years of retail experience up my sleeve. I am easy-going, a good listener and someone who thrives when given a creative challenge and deadline. I feel I would be a very valuable asset to your business.
I am always wanting to learn more and experience new skills and widening my skill base. I'm a very hardworking and reliable worker team member and can fit into most positions within the costume field.
