•Supervision of all aspects of a wardrobe department
•Supervision of casual and contracted staff, including outside contractors
•Planning and collaboration of wardrobe requirements, in conjunction with designers, production management and stage management
•Planning duties including construction deadlines, fitting schedules, and maintenance of costumes during performances
Purchasing and sourcing of fabrics
•Sourcing samples of fabrics for each production and advising on their suitability for the design
•Preparation of fabrics prior to each build period; includes washing, shrinkage control, pressing and basic dying requirements
•Buying of contemporary clothing foot wear and accessories, and budgetary reconciliation
Liaison with artistic / creative personnel
•Communicating with cast, director, designers, to ensure the effective communication between the wardrobe department and artistic personnel to achieve the best professional outcome
•Attending fittings for each performer and facilitating communication to achieve the best outcomes for actor, designer and director
Budgeting, and associated administration tasks
•Budgeting for all costume requirements, including accessories, footwear, hair and wigs to ensure that the budgetary guidelines are met
•Expenditure reports against the agreed budget for each production
•Bump in, and supervision of technical rehearsals as well as backstage and maintenance staff
