About me
I originally became involved in theatre through a love acting. I joined the community theatre group "Shakespeare at Traquair" throughout my childhood and teen years before progressing to more backstage involvement during secondary school where I worked on set and props.I continued into theatre in education through a BTEC level 3 in production arts in 2016, before progressing into a HND in Costume for Stage and Screen at Edinburgh college - graduating in 2018. After a year out during which time I worked 6 months at a Burberry factory, I returned to education. I successfully secured direct entry into second year of BA (hons) Costume Design and Construction with Queen Margaret University and will be due to graduate in 2022.
Throughout my education I've had the opportunity to engage in multiple work placements and shows where I have undertaken different roles within the wardrobe department. I have acted as second assistant twice for Edinburgh Lyceum Theatre, for Summer on stage (2016) and during Belles Stratagem (2018). I worked on two productions within Edinburgh college: Find me (2016) and King Lear (2017) as well as assisting with the graduate exhibition (2018). I briefly engaged in a placement with Scottish Opera during The Magic Flute (2019) but had to leave early due to health complications. With Queen Margaret University I have acted as a first assistant (2019), and as Costume Designer for The Front Page (2021). I have also worked with a small team for a costume as part of a game release (2018) and have consulted on two student films.
I have done alterations for two weddings, designed for another and will be making the suit for my fiancé to wear at my own wedding. I have done multiple commission based works for historical societies, charity events and personal projects. I began carving leather in 2018 and have been tutoring since 2017.
I'm currently looking for more experience in design.
