About me
KARLENE MILLWOOD is a multi-faceted, multi-award-winning entrepreneur, bestselling author, screenwriter, playwright, and international speaker who is passionate about changing minds and lives with her work.Karlene wrote, produced and directed her first theatre project in 2014 titled, Forgiven, which was funded completely out of pocket and through sponsorships. Forgiven boasted a repertoire of 11 cast members and another dozen extras and crew combined.
Not satisfied resting on her laurels, Karlene is currently working on her second theatrical production, BFOM Musical, projected to be on stage in 2024. This versatile artist decided to hone her craft further by studying at the Vancouver Film School in 2016 and has since produced two short films in 2016 and 2017 respectively, one of which she also wrote and directed.
Her first book, A Bucket Full of Mangoes, was well received in the Black community in Toronto and was on sale at A Different Booklist for three years and is still available on Amazon. Karlene recently received an arts grant to adapt that book into a musical.
Karlene likes to dress up and has aspirations of entering the print model arena. She has modelled in local ethnic fashion shows and wishes to turn those experiences into professional modelling. One thing I know about Karlene is that she is passionate about the arts and entertainment industry and throws herself one hundred percent into any project she undertakes.
