About me
Obi D’meano is a 24 year old actor who has been performing for the past 14 years ranging from, theatre to film and tv.He spent his earlier years in Nigeria where he was trained in theatre from the age of 10 and began to star as the lead in all the plays he was in from the age of 13 till he was 17, when he moved to Canada for his undergrad. Some of the plays included ‘Hopes of the Living Dead’, ‘Ovonramwen Nogbaisi’ and ‘Langbodo’ where he was awarded best actor in a production.
At the age of 18 he started his undergrad in York University for Financial Business and Economics. Never interested in that, he found a way to take classes for acting in the acting department under Michael Kelly every chance he got. He spent his holidays shooting short films and whenever he went back to Nigeria for the holidays he took internships working behind-the-scenes of productions being aired on TV. At the age of 21, he was able to move past interning for the production companies and landed a recurring role on a TV drama, ‘E.V.E’.
Around the same time he received his Permanent Residency for Canada and saw that as the perfect opportunity to leave York University and transfer to Toronto Film School where he started formally training as an Actor for film and TV. Since then, he has been building his skills and form, being in a number of student films, both green lit and independent, and other short films.
Obi recognizes his strengths and is constantly challenging himself to reach greater heights. He has intentions on being a successful and ever working actor on film and TV and is willing to sacrifice all his ‘comfort and time’ to do that.
