About me
Caroline’s career as a videographer spans over 5 years in both Kenya and Canada. In 2015, she moved to Toronto, Canada as a refugee. She joined Rogers TV, Toronto as a videographer volunteer for the ‘Talk of The Town Show’ and later joined Toronto Film School where she pursued Film Production. Caroline studied Mass Communication at Foundation College of Professional Studies in Nairobi, Kenya, and did her placement at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). She later joined Media Development in Africa (MEDEVA), a Kenyan non-governmental organization that trains young talents to make television and radio programmes for East African broadcasters. Caroline also worked at Development Through Media as a videographer.Caroline has worked at Envisioning Global LGBT Human Rights, an international research and participatory documentary film project, working to advance social justice and equality for LGBT communities. The project brought together partners based in Africa, India, the Caribbean and Canada. She was the Director of Photography for a documentary examining resistance to anti-homosexuality legislation in Uganda- www.andstillwerise.ca. She also worked as one of the videographers for a film that documented the historic process leading to the UN Human Rights Council resolution on sexual orientation and gender identity- http://vimeo.com/67796115.
In 2018, Caroline has worked with Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community
Services, Toronto as a cinematographer on a project - Among Friends – that focuses on LGBT newcomers . She has also worked on a project with Women’s Health in Women’s Hands, about HIV stigma among African, Caribbean and Black communities in Canada, https://youtu.be/RT8BpwDbBZs.
