In quarantine and feeling uninspired

Hello fellow creatives. My name is Vineciah McFarlane, actress. I wanted to create a forum to possibly create a place where we could share our struggles with finding inspiration/ motivation to create content and share how to get out of that funk.
Personally, I haven't felt any need or desire to film since this outbreak until yesterday. I know I can't be alone on this! So, please share your experience and make connections!

I hear you, Vineciah!! I had thought I would use this time to do a bunch of creative projects but I do found myself unmotivated for the longest time. I think a lot of people are feeling that way. Truthfully, even though it may not be "that bad" in a lot of ways for many of us, living through this pandemic is, I think, a sort of trauma that we are all trying to process. We have lost so many of the parts of our lives that made us feel normal, and there is so much fear and division all around, it's hard to know how to process all that. So I think it's normal to feel a bit uninspired, at the least. Don't be too hard on yourself if you feel that way! It's normal.

As for myself I actually started a Youtube channel wherein I read tarot cards for people. (It's called "Bunnykat's Oracle, if anyone is interested in checking it out!). I am way too shy at this point to make the channel about me or my life, but I can sit there for hours reading the cards and it gives me something to focus on that takes my mind off this whole pandemic situation, so that's been fun! My videos kind of suck right now but at least it's something! I'm sure I'll get better in time. By the way, I sat around thinking about it for about 6 months before I finally found it in me to act on it, so believe me when I say I know what you mean about not being "motivated"!. Lol. (Not really).

I wish you all the best and would love to hear about what you end up working on (if you do start something). Even just using this time to read and study can be great too! Please don't be too hard on yourself.

much love,
marianne

Hi Vineciah, and everyone else. I was casually scrolling and saw this forum! I'm excited that a group like this has started.

I personally have been more motivated than I really ever had. Though its been a great time to learn and look inward through self-discovery, it has created this feeling within me that I'm like a hamster, running in a never-ending wheel. Does anyone feel this sometimes?

This pandemic makes it so difficult to venture out and expand.

Though I've decided to fall out the wheel like a really wild speed chase and I'm the hostage in a car. So now I'm out the car. Yay!

I began taking this more seriously. Acting on film. And it started with re-activating my Mandy page. :)

I also have a YouTube channel called PLANETKEKE. At the moment is a mix of random videos, If I'm being honest.
However, I want to re-brand my channel and create more of a, Actor-Day in the Life-Adventure type of channel. SO, if anyone is interested in starting their own channel that is more acting/performance focused...quite possibly we can form sessions creating together, giving feedback on content ideas and building a network.

Anyways...I find staying informed even if we're not acting can help a lot! By this, I mean watching films, tuning into film festivals (that are online now), studying monologues, clarifying a 3-5 year journey. REALLY, anything to keep being inspired.

but NO PRESSURE. we should give ourselves the time to bloom into whatever we choose to pursue.

I hope to connect more. Byeeeee
