The film begins with Layla in her therapist's waiting area. Whilewaiting, a strange man makes her feel uncomfortable by staring at herand invading her personal space. As a distraction, she reads a pamphlet on calming breathing techniques until she is called in to see her therapist Dr. Jennifer is a compassionate character, supporting Layla through her journey. During their conversation, Layla struggles toexplain the cultural differences and barriers she faces as an immigrant. Ironically, Dr. Jennifer fails to understand. Later, Layla goes on adinner date at Chris's place, a guy she has seen recently Laylaarrives early, then anxiously decides to go back and wait for Chris opens the door and finds Layla in the hallway. They both go inside; Chris is preparing dinner, Layla goes around his books and DVD selection and shares her opinion. They both seem into each other. However, Chris later says a comment that makes Layla feel uncomfortable and keeps asking her if she knows how to belly dance. Layla, feeling utterly angry, confronts Chris then leaves her date before dinner Attachments:
