About me
Joshua is a versatile actor at home on stage and screen. He is used to working in the West End, and performed the lead role of ‘Will’ in Running Wild (adapted from Michael Morpurgo’s book) at the Open Air Theatre, Regents Park in 2016. In 2017 he was cast in a Network Rail safety film. In June 2018, he played the lead role of Bugsy Malone, at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. In 2019, he performed as Tumnus in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and in 2020 he starred in the British premiere of Trap. Most recently, in Christmas 2021, he played Jay in Beauty and Beast, Rose Theatre, Kingston.Joshua is a bright, thoughtful teenager with a warm sense of humour. He is a sensitive actor who emotionally engages his audiences. He takes direction well and learns lines with ease. Directors have been impressed with his polite, hardworking attitude and professional behaviour. His favourite role so far has been Jay in Beauty and the Beast about which The Times wrote "Joshua Fernandes is delightfully whimsical as a quizzical talking bird."

Additional information:
Joshua was awarded one of only ten places in the Rose theatre Collective, Kingston, where young people created a new performance together with industry professionals. He worked on a podcast and short film for them.
Joshua has the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. He can swim, run and play football. He receives training through Rose Youth Theatre, and Amanda Warwick Dance Arts. He is also an accomplished voice actor for KIDZTALK.
