About me
I currently attend South Hunsley and Sixth Form College in East Riding of Yorkshire and will be starting in Year 10 in Spet 2018. My favourite subjects are Chemistry, Music and Drama. I was born in the UK but lived abroad in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, until I was eleven, and attended a British School. From a very young age I discovered my passion for singing, dance and musical theatre. I have been told many times by critics that I have great stage presence and fantastic facial expressions, and that I light up the stage! This became known after I joined the local dance clubs and school drama club and appeared in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Music Through The Ages, and as Oliver in Oliver Twist. I was part the Gulf Music Festival and represented my school for vocals. I was also part of the British Club Amateur Dramatics Group. Some of my lead roles included Tracy in Hair Spray, Matilda in The Musical Matilda, and starred as the Ballet Teacher in Billy Elliott.
In year five I was one of the two pupils selected from my school to participate in a week’s workshop to produce a play with a top soprano composer, Gretchen Hewitt, from the U.S.A. I loved contributing my ideas to shape the show. Living in a multi-cultural environment, I feel that I clearly understand the different cultures and religions, and beacause of this I have managed to use this during my performances on stage.
Since returning to the UK in 2015, I have achieved Distinctions in all of my Classical University Of West London Exams up to Grade 5, and am currently working towards Grade 6. I'm also part of the Maureen Hunter Singers choir, and performed many solos at concerts, and recently spent Spring 2018 half term touring Italy performing selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Claude-Michel Schonburg, and some Italian composers, in several different cathedrals.
I was a member at the Northern Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), for three years and took part in several shows and attended a specialist workshop run by The Royal Shakespeare Company. I have also been involved in my school drama club and was Rosalie Mullins in The School of Rock, and The Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. I was later selected for the National Connections Festival in Doncaster, and was the youngest performer.
I would love to have the opportunity to explore and be a part of either TV commercial(s) or bin in Theatre in order to develop my skills to be able to create a career in the drama and music industry.
