About me
I have many years experience of working in the theatre industry, both in the UK and abroad, having toured all around Europe and have worked in a wide range of venues. After starting my theatre career as a trainee set designer and builder I became an acting ASM/DSM and then moved on to the stage management and technical side of theatre production, gaining a wide range of skills in all of these departments. Working on touring shows in the early part of my career gave me experience of setting up and dismantling stage sets quickly, safely and efficiently, and over the years since whilst working in the West End (at several different venues) I have built on these skills that I have acquired. In my current position I have also gained extensive experience of being in charge of the stage department, both during get-outs and fit-ups and during the day-to-day running of shows, due to being acting H.O.D. to cover sabbatical, holiday and sick leave.I am currently seeking employment in a Master Carpenter or Deputy Master Carpenter role in London or as stage crew / flyman/ follow spot operator in the short term.
I am professional, punctual and reliable, physically fit and able to communicate well with others.
Additional skills:
Carpentry, rigging, stage flying, follow-spot operation, basic scenic painting and prop making/repairs, painting and decorating. Up to date trained first-aider.
