About me
I have always wanted to be a part of the film/tv industry, studying media for GCSE (B) and also studying media and film for A-level (B,B); after finishing my studies, I went out and found work experience as a Production Runner to get a feel what it is like to be on a live set and secure what position I would like to be in one day within the industry. After working close the the Art Director on 3 shoots with MTV, Comedy Central, So Beano and Comic Relief for online digital sketches, I found a love for being around the props, iconography and set design. I love the idea of bringing the scene to life with art, and I was excited every day to get up early and have a full day on set where I would help the Art Director with making props, setting up the scene, going back and forth to buy and set up anything needed. I’ve always been creative, and even showered this through my role as a floor runner, where I was making tea and coffees, ordering food for the whole cast and crew, helping actors with their lines, and helping the crew with their needs, whether it be fixing costumes or running errands for the producers. With my experience with So Beano I worked as the Art Director’s Assistant as I realised I wanted to explore the field of art and set design more. I’m organised and feel I have a creative eye which is important when you are creating the scene and atmosphere. Inspired by many films and TV, especially amazing shows such as Game of Thrones where I find myself analysing the set, location and iconography more than actually watching the show, and hoping that one day I grow to work on something as big as TV and film. I am great around new people, not shy to approach strangers and am a very hard working person when it comes to doing something I love!Referees:
removed - Kat Butterfield. I worked with her for all my shoots - she is the writer and producer of the sketches, and had me back every time as a runner/art directors assistant as we got on so well and fitted in with an amazing team.
Additional information:
I have A-Levels in English, Media and Film, which helps me understand the world of TV and Film, while it also inspired me to really gain experience so I can gain more opportunity for work. I’ve worked on digital comedy sketches for MTV and Comedy Central, working within the MTV building in Camden which I loved, as well as other locations around London. I’ve worked as a Floor Runner and Art Director’s Assistant within my time working for children comedy sketches with So Beano, which are available on Sky. I also worked with the comedy sketches for Comic Relief a few months ago, where I learnt even more knowledge and gained more experience within the field of Art Directing.
