Alan has worked continuously as a professional post-production sound engineer since 1990, having worked in facilities across the country and Europe, including Video Village, BBC Bristol, Videolondon, dB Post, De Lane Lea, PPC, Videosonics, Empire, Encore, The Farm, Wave Denmark, Konk Sound and Pinewood / Shepperton, to name a few, building a proven track record in a versatile range of genres, including trailers, documentaries, drama and feature film productions.
Highly detail oriented, Alan is familiar with all the latest industry innovations and works to exacting technical standards. He consistently delivers high quality results on time and on budget and works well under pressure, applying innovation and creativity at all levels.
Alan is Bafta, MPSE Golden Reel, Gemini and Resolution Award nominated, plus CAS and MPSE Golden Reel Award (ADR) Winning. He has worked with many creative and technical industry legends, has designed workflows, built dubbing theatres and foley / ADR facilities and liaised closely with manufacturers and productions. He continues to share his knowledge and experience as a Team Member of the Production Expert Blogs.
Since 2013 Alan has run 8dB Sound Limited, providing post-production sound services to a diverse range of clients, from corporate to documentary, to Disney and Marvel feature films, to top rating TV Drama, to period sitcoms, trailer campaigns and VR installations.
