About me
I have over a decade of experience in design & making, mostly in the Theatre industry. I have worked extensively as a self-employed set & costume designer, prop maker and scenic artist, taking on many projects for companies such as the Unicorn Theatre over the years. My experience ranges broadly from sculpting, mould making and casting to poly-carving, soft props and breakaways, puppets, weapons, masks, and many other things. As a set and costume designer, I developed the essential skills in scale model making and technical drawing (both draft and digital) to effectively and efficiently communicate a design proposal; skills that have proven invaluable to me as a prop maker and taught me a keen attention to detail. I am currently looking to pursue ventures in other industries and to create more large-scale work.Skills Include: Design & Drafting, Prop Making (various materials including plastazote, silicone, fibreglass, resin, clay, leatherwork, acrylic, sugarglass, foam, poly-carving, and more), Scenic Art, Sculpture, Mold-Making & Casting, Model Making, Technical Drawing, CAD (including AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite), Budgeting & Managing a Creative Team (incl. drama students)
Referees:
Available on Request.
Additional information:
I have recently returned from a sabbatical during which I almost single-handedly renovated a Georgian Townhouse (yorkshirecoastalcottages.com/the-townhouse). I am now back in London and looking for new opportunities.
