About me
The film industry is my passion; from managing equipment, to dealing with the artistic value of a production. Yes I am 22 years old, and yes I am a woman. I can do just as much and better than many other men my age or older. I speak Spanish, English and French. I can understand italian. I Played the piano for 13 years. I am very active. Whenever someone gives me an order I try to execute it as fast as possible. I try to help in other areas that require assistance, so that the working flow keeps on going. I am considered a funny person, I mean, if we are going to work together, let's at least make our time less stressful. I like to learn new things, new equipment, new software. I Learn quickly. I am also considered a strong girl, compared to other girls my age. I carry stuff all the time. I always prefer Quality versus Quantity. I manage to give my best in the period I am asked to deliver a product. When I don't have enough time, I still deliver and the client is satisfied but I sometimes think I could have done better and I learn from that and use that knowledge on my next task. That is why I feel motivated to work every day, there is always something new to learn. No day is equal to the last one.Having worked as a videographer/editor for a program that deals with social problems along the border of Mexico-U.S; exposed me to many problems that people and these two countries are dealing with. At ages 19-21 most of my friends were going to school, working at a job that didn't require much of their input for a better society. In the meantime,I was still going to school, but I also was going out on the field witnessing terrible stories about girls getting pregnant at age 14 and selling their newborns for cocaine. I was investigating the story of a girl who had been charged of a crime she didn't commit. I was interviewing people of the educational department in San Diego talking about kids who weren't getting the support they needed at schools in order to perfect the English Language and get better grades. (Punto Fronterizo/CrossBorderX won an Emmy on 2012 for a segment I worked in for Best Program/Special at the Pacific Southwest NATAS Awards.)
I don't do what I do just for the money. Being part of a change makes me feel productive and satisfied with myself. Even if it is entertainment, it still helps people feel better at the end of a bad day; and families gather around to see a certain show.
I know that getting the job that we desire the most isn't easy on the first 2-3 years it might even take longer, but since I like everything related to film and TV, it motivates me doing whatever I can to move forward and get closer to that one dream that I would like to accomplish before a die: Become a Director of Photography or Film Director.
