Sound recordist/boom Operator -11 September 2016
This was a one-day day shoot, it was a comedy take on a talk show about how up and coming actors are struggling to find work. It came with its own set of challenges but done my absolute best it a tricky situations.
Sound recordist/boom Operator- 17th September to 21st September 2016
This was a four day shoot in various areas around London. With exterior and interior shots. Some difficulties on set, such as acoustical problems like to much reflection and exterior noise. I overcomed them with a bit of enginouty and some technical knowledge. It was a funny take on a documentary about a man trying to find love.
Sound Designer/Sound Operator/Boom Operator – October 2012 to date
This was a good project, called 402 Edgware Road which was a short film, where i was boom operator and sound designer. The post production on this project was to synchronise all video to audio and also to record some Foley recording, such as light switch sounds, footsteps, etc. Using three programs, Final Cut and Plural Eye to synchronise the audio to video then Logic to complete the sound design. The video editing was not completed by me, but all sound design in the short film was. This also involved a lot of automation, such as panning, volume, effects, etc. The were some problem with reverberation, as it was shot in a small room where reverberation could not have been avoided. I done my best to remove it, by using a gate and some complicted EQing techniques. It reduced it some what, but once it there, their is no way to remove it all. With todays technology there is not.
Sound Operator – September 2012
This was a short film called The Page Turner, this was a three day shoot and was filmed out doors and in a studio. This was a largely based CGI film which was shot in a studio large green screen studio. Due to having multiple microphones, which included two boom microphone and two radio microphones and so that they were recorded onto one audio hard disk recorder a 422 field mixer was required. This was a 422 sound device field mixer, which allowed up to four different inputs and could record to seprate outputs. One to record straight into the camera and the other was used to go into my audio hard disk recorder.
Sound Operator – September 2012
This job was a short film called Lucky, this was a two night shoots and a day shoot. It was a student film for a guy from Central film school in London. The were a few tricky situations in the shoot, from outdoor shots to using radio microphones. One situation that required some thought and consideration was the scenes that involved a Black Cab. Most of the scenes involved were inside the cab. The radio microphones were positioned in the back and front of the cab. They were used to record any dialogue or ambient sounds that i could not record with the boom microphone. To record all audio (dialogue/ambient sounds) a 422 Sound Device field mixer was used. It had 4 channels, low pass filters and panning controls, the low pass filters were very handy as they attenuated some of the low rumble from wind noise and other annoying sounds.
Runner For Music Video – July 2012
This was a music video for a group from East London called E3 Brother. This was an R&B song with an African strong backing track. This included lighting changes and other duties including cleaning and tidying after set. It was set in a Penthouse flat on The River Thames. It was an interesting shoot with a lot of diverse and interesting characters.
Sound Operator/Boom Operator – June 2012
Being a two-day shoot it involved a lot of hard work and dedication, it was a pilot episode to get onto national television. It was a double booming situation with Sennhiser radio microphones for close up shots and double booming for tricky situations where multiple dialogues were used. This was so that all dialogue was recorded to sufficient levels.
