About me
My name is Celia Qu and I am a videographer currently working for Design102: a company producing video and design work for national government. As well as having worked for two years as a professional videographer, I have diverse experience in broadcast television, feature film and corporate communications. In my current role, I work as part of a small team that devise, film and edit videos in their entirety. Commissions range from high profile engagements with Government Ministers through to on-location work across the country. Seeing projects through from concept to delivery allows me to take authority over my work and maintain high levels of responsibility. Most of these videos have a quick turnaround and are filmed in high-intensity settings. On many shoots we account for last-minute changes to schedule, long shoot days and travelling long distances. From these experiences, I have developed an aptitude for combining excellent organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with a high degree of creativity and resilience under pressure.
Alongside my current employment, I also work as a freelancer, which has taken me to settings as diverse as rural China and local communities in the Czech Republic. I have showcased my freelance work in high profile locations to large audiences, my most recent project; creating a promotional video to go alongside the recent art exhibition Out of the Blue that was held in the Royal Palace Museum in Milan.
Prior to my current role, I worked as a runner for the post-production facilities: The Farm Group and Fremantle Media and undertook training in Edit Assist before moving into production. During this time, I was responsible for handling, logging and prepping assets for shows such as The Apprentice and Britain’s got Talent. This role required a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail, in spite of late working patterns and overnight shifts.
I am adept at self-shooting with BlackMagic, Canon, and Sony cameras, editing using the Adobe Suite and DaVinci Resolve and often assist with pre-production, scheduling and production documentation.
