About me
I have a comprehensive knowledge of craft editing and television production techniques. Fully conversant with Premier Pro, FCP X, Quantel Q Edit and Avid. I have in depth knowledge of effects in all edit the above platforms. I am used to supplementing graphics and treating stills and video (either in Photoshop creating 3d manipulations, After Effects and within the Q edit platform). and keying on captions etc. I am experienced in the systems that support edit platforms.For the last 14 years I have been based in at BBC Westminster editing long and short form for the BBC at Millbank, for National News ONE,SIX,TEN bulletins mainly for Laura Kuenssberg, John Piennar, Vicky Young and also for Politics Live tv and digital packages (made for social media platforms for Web, Instagram and Vertical for Twitter), editing pictures and sound to support multi-media reports for BBC News
I also edit long form (30 mins+) such as Day in Parliament, Week in Parliament, Westminster in review, Year in Politics etc.
Additional information:
I often assume the role of a producer when one is not available, especially when working on the Lunchtime news bulletin, liaising with the reporter on script ideas, story structuring, picture ordering and subsequent use of library material alongside sync selection and picture treatments.
I am regularly asked to carry out the duties of a Picture Editing Team Leader, supervising a team of Picture Editors, liaising with programs in a planning role, sourcing requests, organizing picture encoding and file transfers etc. I am experienced in recording and transmitting pictures and sound in all broadcast formats.
I have many times worked at locations away from base (political conferences) and have used editing equipment (editing suites or mobile kit) as circumstances dictated, all in accordance with current safety procedures.

Senior Photographer working across the Civil Service, duties included general photography, industrial photography, high speed film photography, video production.
When working for Fire Research I was awarded two international film awards for "Front Room Fire" (a film warning about the speed of a fire taking place in an average house front room), this film was used by broadcasters as a public information film.
I also won a third international film award for a film called "Bomb in a Suitcase" (a film about the dangers of leaving aerosol cans in a suitcase in the hold of an aircraft).
