About me
I have recently graduated from Architectural School at the University of Patras, Greece. I received a 5-year diploma with honors with the qualification of Architect-Engineer in the year 2016. So my academic education was focused on architectural and urban design. I really like to experiment with forms and volumes and I did have the chance to pursue it with the design of my thesis. It was about a multifaith space in the center of Athens.However, I have fallen in love with films and theater and the magic that exists in set production and design. During my degree, I attended classes on architecture and filmmaking by my thesis supervisor Panos Dragonas. The class focused on the architectural elements that complete scenic space and how these help the director reveal a story. These classes further motivated me to pursue a career in film and theater industry.
Furthermore, I have experience from working for architectural offices in Greece, Denmark, and the UK as an architectural assistant and graphic designer. My academic and work experience enhanced my interpersonal and communicational skills and I have learned to work efficiently under pressure. Prioritizing my responsibilities within a challenging work environment or within a narrow time period is a very inspiring situation that can drive my performance in higher standards.
After experiencing work as an architect, I realized there are two fields that I am passionate about, design and film. Moving forward I would really like to combine them. This is why a few months ago I attended a course at UAL Central St. Martins on "Set design for Film & TV". Upon completing this course, I realized there is still a lot to learn about the film industry from the inside. Specifically, I would love to gain experience working in production design and learn how to translate the director's vision in 3D dimensions.
So now I am attending an MA Scenography course in Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I am experimenting with different materials and alternatives approach of the design process for performances.

The consideration of theatrical settings as sacred spaces aroused an interest in the idea of designing a church. Due to the fact that my diploma thesis was based on the design of a holy place where people could gather together and act as a whole. But how this intimacy can be translated in the performing arts? How can the audience be captured by the play and be sentimentally connected with it? I would like to invest all the above using the stage design as my main tool. I am very interested in interactive design and how could a theater set be transformed through audience experiences and acts.
I am a hard working person and always cheerful. In addition to being flexible and responsive, I'm also obsessed with detail, particularly when it comes to the presentation of my work and I am going to focus on answering all my master's proposal tasks.
To sum up, I am thrilled about the prospect of being involved in production design. I would love the opportunity to meet you and discuss in detail what I could bring to the program. I appreciate your consideration and I am really looking forward to your reply.
