About me
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree, Communication Arts/Music from the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State,Nigeria.I have more than combined 20 years experience in Research, Marketing, Creative Writing(broadcast commercial copies writing, screenplays), Journalism(print, electronic and online), and Radio and Television Production experience for print and electronic media.
I worked in Minaj Broadcast International, Lagos, Nigeria, mainly as Creative Writer and Producer.Indeed scripting and producing Broadcast Commercials, Documentaries and Live Programmes. These added to my freelance years 2014 till date have enabled book to screenplay adaptations:
i) Isaac. Boro's '12Day Revolution,' written by Nigeria's first known militant while in jail awaiting execution(circa 1968); 1998.
ii) 'Words as Sweet as Honey,' an episode in television series adaptations of Late Madiba Nelson Mandela's favourite poems. It was focused on children entertainment; commissioned by South African entertainment attorney and filmmaker, Claudia Noble-Arreff, Johannesburg, 2012.
My talent, abilities and experience cut across writing and producing radio and television commercials; writing poetry; adapting and writing screenplays of strong national and international relevance. These include 'Words Sweeter than Honey,' episode in children's cartoon series; 'Isaac Boro- 12 Day Revolution,' Nigerian national relevance and 'Palm Covenant,' about military/political leadership crisis; focused on a woman as the subject of interest between her brother and a rebel leader; while the main crisis subsisted.
I always look out for jobs that can enable me showcase my talents to the international market. More so when it has to do with adaptation; whether it is editing or writing the screenplay from scratch. I also believe a touch of Afrocentrism could enrich the exotic essence of any international job through visual and audio subtexts.
I am a poet, songwriter-singer with a strong touch of romance.
