About me
I am a recent Popular Music with Music Technology graduate, from the University of Derby, having achieved a first class honours degree. I am now seeking work in the theatre industry, primarily as a sound technician. I tailored my degree towards theatre as much as possible by choosing surround sound modules, researching theatre and writing a musical as my final year project. Outside of my study, I was an active member of the University's theatre society, secretary of its committee and technical manager, in charge of the entire backstage team. During my time in the society I was a sound operator, technical manager, stage manager, assistant director and now, director.Since University, I have completed a month long work placement with the sound department of the Royal Shakespeare Company. This involved participation in daily scratch tests, rig checks and other activities as well as learning new skills such as soldering, how to make cables and how to rig speakers safely. I was also highly involved in a collaborative project with Google, called ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dreaming'.
