About me
My interest in film and storytelling started at an early age, and my love of the social aspects of creating compelling narratives carried me into my the field of English Literature. After graduating with a B.A. in English, I traveled for two years across Europe and Asia as a teacher to broaden my horizons. After reaching the position of branch manager abroad, I came back to New York and took a job as a sales associate. There I learned to manage appointments, speak with business owners, use Salesforce, communicate effectively with a sales team and move in a highly competitive and stressful environment. I used the unique opportunity given to me in sales to become more assertive, confident, and outspoken as a professional, whereas the skills I gained as a teacher were of compassion and perspective. Now that I am settled in New York, I want to return to the landscape I most enjoy and pursue the creative work of film and television. I am comfortable speaking both peer to peer and with management, I seek opportunities to incorporate creative solutions to problems, and I enjoy project-based environments. I learn easily and eagerly, welcome constructive criticism, and strive to improve wherever and whenever I can. My teaching experience lends me the added perspective of knowing from the point of view of an instructor how important it is to listen to more experienced people when confronting new situations. Additionally, my time in Europe and China made me aware of many different management styles, cultural viewpoints, and various film and art perspectives. My greatest strength is flexibility; I want to learn as much as I can in any position, given any task.Referees:
