About me
Italian Cinematographer Giulia (Julia) Governo was born and raised in Turin, Italy. From an early age she has been exposed to art, music and traveling. From her city she learned to search for the beauty and poetry that is hidden in every place, person and story.Giulia graduated from the well-known European Institute of Design in Photography, then from New York Film Academy in Cinematography and UCLA Extension in Directing.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Giulia was the DP on Broken Angels, which was nominated as best movie at Los Angeles CineFest. She also was DP on Zelma’s Unfinished Business which won Best Avantgard short at Zedfest Film Festival, as well as Plenum which was nominated as Best short at Terror Film Festival.
From Europe to Australia, from the Sahara desert to Banff Canada, from Petra to the Grand Canyon Giulia has traveled the world observing the differences and communality. Her eye has absorbed the beauty, struggle and human story of each place. She brings this unique eye and perception to each project she embraces.
