About me
I have been a freelance costume maker for nearly three years and as well as completing a costume construction degree at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama I have also gained a considerable amount of work experience in theatre and related areas. In my first year of university I was selected from a large group of candidates to work for The White Horse Theatre in Germany for 5 weeks where we made costumes for nine shows, including measuring and fitting original pieces and adjusting sourced items. I have always loved costume work but I think this opportunity to experience a working theatre made me realise my love for the subject. Since then I have worked in various fabrication and costume departments including on the London 2012 Olympics and have now been working at Rainbow Productions for nearly a year making character costumes and mascots. I also have considerable experience dressing back stage.
I love to take on new challenges and solve problems, specialising in prop costume has made me view costumes in a different light and I am eager to experience new ways of working and teaching my skills to others. Through experience in theatre and bar work I have proved I am a sociable person with a good working ethic and the enthusiasm to work hard until a job is completed to a professional finish and to the deadline.
