About me
Having successfully secured 2:1 at the Arts University of Bournemouth in Costume With Performance Design, the last three years have allowed me to hone and amalgamate an array of skills easily translated into many different practices. My academic work has allowed me to pursue paths of creativity, research and administration.
I specialised my study on design. This exercised my creative eye and skills in aesthetics and art. Accompanied with this pursuit was rigorous researching endeavours intended to inform my design. Subsequent to the research and final design, the practice of creating my pieces has also armed me with valuable industry skills such as; breaking down, dying, alterations and sourcing.
In order to better understand my intended metier I took it upon myself to also familiarise myself with the administration necessary to catalyse and maintain such productions. I have familiarised myself with narrative breakdowns of scripts (for screen and theatre), financial management of budgets and productions, the management of small teams and the delegation of a workload between the varied talents of a crew.
My work at University granted me the opportunity to pursue extra circular activities also. I have supported live projects and independent film projects. Namely so, SISATA and Vita Nova were two companies that I had worked with closely to bring a production to realisation. Both these establishments have expressed their intention to enlist my skills in the future and my time with them proved rich and fulfilling having worked with so many other talented people in the trade.
Subsequently, my contact list has grown over the past few years and I am in constant contact with many young, energetic and innovative individuals that I hope also to work with again in the near future.
My other experiences have been in the retail and service industry having been employed at Accessorize for a year as a retail assistant. My responsibilities included standard retail ability in till management, customer service and product knowledge but my competence stretched to individual customer based advice, stimulating more sales on a more personal level of service to our patrons.
However, my passion lies in Costume for screen. Film, Television and all media entertainment boast an inspiring platform for me to experience and research the world around me. The freedom that a creative project gives me to learn is what excites me and I foresee no end to the limits of my capacity to establish myself in this industry because I whole-heartedly believe that passion in learning is an unfaltering and admirable trait in anyone.
Theatre professional:
I have just graduated a three year degree course in Costume with Performance Design, these years have taught me a huge amount and I have been lucky enough to be working on live productions throughout. am very excited to get into more work and gain more knowledge and experience.
