About me
My desire to pursue a career within film stemmed at an early age after being utterly fascinated by the visual effects and narrative displayed in the 2001 film AI. The unique and contrary work created a mesmerizing viewing experience for me alongside Haley Joel Osment’s performance which enhanced my curiosity and passion in both film and drama.During secondary school I promptly became involved in the ‘Drama after School Club’ and participated in many school productions. BTEC Performing Arts also contributed to my infatuation with the subjects helping me explore every aspect of both. I was also chosen for a four week university experience to study film & drama, which I enjoyed and helped to build up my skills. I continued my passion for the subjects at A- level. Here I gained insight on the processes of film production and film theory, the amount of hours and inspiration storyboarding requires and the precise detail that is incorporated in editing.
Whilst studying at A-Level and University, I directed and produced a number of film and video projects, notably a 24 hour project producing the short film ‘The Speaker’ and an individually produced documentary titled ‘My Little Black Dress’. My degree coursework and experiences creating projects of different genres have given me the necessary attributes to succeed in the film & media industry, such as advanced organisational and time-management skills, research and creativity skills.
My previous jobs have been working in the retail sector. Having many customer facing roles have given me the ability to communicate professionally and build relationships. In addition, being part of a team has allowed me to develop management and problem-solving skills. I have a real willingness to learn and given the opportunity will work hard to meet and exceed expectations.
