About me
Currently in London for the Summer as Dresser for Groundhog Day the musical at the Old Vic, Im hoping to go back on tour towards the Autumn as a Deputy. My skills vary from Wigs to Costume, which Im finding is putting prospective employers off as I imagine they think Im half of one and six of dozen of the other when it comes to skill levels in each genre. I plan to stay in theatre for work, and Im just getting started, I find it helps to be multi skilled in our industry in order to survive, I also Love wigs as much as tailoring as much as wardrobe.A big job for me recently was being a Cosmetologist and Costume assistant for Disney Cruise Line for five years, and since a dresser for Theatre and TV. I m always looking to improve my skills, so after my junior wigs assistant roll on Mary Poppins 2015 UK & Ireland Tour, I was trainned under Vincenza Miele at the Wig Room Training Academy, London. (a gem of a course if your thinking of practicing wigs without the uni price tag)
My interest in Wigs grew from working on the first WICKED UK and Ireland Tour 2013. As a junior wardrobe assistant, I graduated from Junior to the Elphaba dresser within a few weeks. a great job for me.
I studied costume making and Tailoring at Arts University College Bornemouth, they are skills I still practice at work and as a hobby.
I will hopefully be improving my skills further in the future as I look into courses in wig knotting, barbering and ethnic hair when available. Also Tailoring. I have recently been participating in online wig courses and pattern drafting in spare time.
Thanks.
