About me
If we were playing “Two Truths and a Lie,” I’d say the following: I’ve exceeded expectations at every job I’ve ever had, I once won a chicken-wing (BBQ flavored if you were wondering) eating contest, and my previous few jobs were both amazing and fulfilling. The last, of course, is the lie – they were neither. For now. As my father always said, when something goes wrong in your life, just yell ‘Plot Twist’, make the necessary changes, and keep on going! After several years of studying different things and trying out different careers, watching more “find your passion” TED Talks than I’d like to admit, and assuring my family that, yes, I will one day find my dream job, I’m starting to come to terms with the fact that I’m honestly really passionate about two things: the entertainment industry and creativity. That being said, I am looking for my break-out role as a Production Assistant / Runner!I’ve had a lifelong interest in movies, TV, and radio/music/talk/comedy shows and I love creating and producing things that entertain, enlighten, and educate people. While you won’t find the title “producer/writer/film-maker” or a “film degree” on my resume, I’ve actually been entertaining people for years through my hobbies! I have a love for everything from makeup and fashion, to producing, writing and cinematography. I’ve written several short stories – some have even been published (I’ve enclosed one of them with my application) – and I’m constantly creating and editing music videos for my Youtube channel.
I have a wide breadth of experience. I’ve worked as a model / promotional model, a store manager, finance consultant for EY’s Media & Entertainment division, and a psychological researcher. I work extremely hard at everything I do, have excellent organizational/communication skills, and have both personality and professionalism.
Hope I’ve kept your attention so far! So, let’s get down to why I’m worth giving a shot.
• I am passionate about the entertainment industry - motivation is my middle name!
• Being in consulting for four years has rendered me a veteran when it comes to working overtime and weekends with short notice – long hours are no problem! I’m a pro at working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where deadlines are always changing. I thrive on challenges!
• For me, nothing is too small a job. Need a coffee run? I got you covered. Photocopies? Great! Help with editing a PowerPoint? I’m a certified PowerPoint Ranger. Need someone to call in the middle of the night because you’re stressed with deadlines? Give me a ring! (Seriously, it’s no problem, I have a Master’s degree in Psychology). The point is this: I am serious about transitioning into this industry, I am eager and I am an incredibly fast learner – a sponge!
• I will value every experience and always give you my best!
With my vast experience and education, coupled with my enthusiasm and dedication to transforming my lifelong hobbies and interests into a successful career, I will swiftly surpass your expectations.
I very much look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
