About me
Ever since I was a child, I've been captivated by the power of storytelling through the lens of a camera. I've devoted my entire education and career to honing my craft and perfecting my style. My passion for attaching meaning to an image led me to create my award-winning feature documentary, 'Life's A Beach', in which I spent a year and a half immersing myself in the philosophical lifestyle of a man living in a log cabin on the beach. This film was recognized at prestigious festivals such as the East London Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, and won the award for Best Activism Film at the Toronto Beaches Film Festival.I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from charity work to feature films, and I am currently a regular contributor to the film website Britflicks, where I capture and edit behind-the-scenes footage, including exclusive interviews with actors and directors. I am skilled with a Sony FS7 camera, and have a complete set of equipment including lighting, lenses and glidecam. I am proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve, and use these tools to edit and grade footage, manipulating the image to convey specific atmospheres and enhance the audience's experience.
As a visual storyteller, I understand the importance of capturing striking images and charismatic narrative. A picture truly can say a thousand words, and I have a passion for finding stories and bringing them to life through the lens of a camera. But it's not just about the equipment, the most powerful tool in filmmaking is the mind behind the camera. With a wealth of experience in visual storytelling, I strive to create imagery that not only captures the beauty of a moment, but also conveys a deeper message and meaning.
One of my guiding philosophies is the concept of "sonder", the realization that every person around us, even strangers, are living a life just as complex and rich as our own. This philosophy informs my approach to work, and I always strive to maintain a professional attitude while treating every person I encounter with the same level of importance. From interviewing esteemed actors like Sir Ian McKellen, to creating a promotional video for a local disability center, I approach each project with the same level of dedication and care, even in high-pressure situations.
