About me
For longer than I can remember, telling other people’s stories through documentary has been a passion of mine. Over the past eight years—since graduating from a Film Production course specialising in documentary—I have made it my goal to search out these stories and give everyone a voice. Working with Hyde Hill Productions as their Cinematographer, I have built a strong catalog of documentary films, which have gone on to broadcast on a global stage and win at film festivals. During our most recent film, Goodnight London, we set out to capture the drastic changes in and around Berwick Street in Soho, London. I spent weeks photographing people who lived, worked and visited the area as well as the building work that was changing the visual landscape. This quickly spread to include the rest of London, where we provided a platform for many voices to be heard. To me, documentary is lots of things; it can be journalism, education, entertainment, provocation, and thus I often view my work as journalistic, capturing moments of history in organic form.I started my career working as Lead Editor for two years at CommunicateTV, a specialist in interview based films; this is where I grew as a practical storyteller and where I edited my first feature length documentary. I feel very lucky to have started working as an editor as it gave me a practical understanding of the production workflow and thorough organisation. It was also a fantastic experience where I honed my skills not only as an editor but also in sound design, graphics and effects.
Over the past eight years, I have worked on numerous major blockbuster films with SFX company Snow Business, and thus I have been lucky enough to observe and converse with many of the industry’s finest technicians and craftsmen. There is nothing quite like the experience being instructed by the director of Alien, Sir Ridley Scott, to make snow fall at an exact speed. For six years, I have done work in the events industry at large summertime events such as British Summer Time Festival and All Points East, where I set up wireless networks for communications, media, security, ticketing and much more.
