About me
My whole life has been built around creativity, especially with film and television. Since high school, I have committed myself to studying film and everything about it. Specifically, writing has always been a passion of mine that I strive to hone each and every day. I took that hunger to learn and shape my craft to the University of Southern California where I graduated in 2011 with a BA in Cinematic Arts Critical Studies and again in 2014 with my MFA in Writing for Screen and Television. For the last three years, I was the Writers’ Production Assistant and Writers’ Assistant on the ABC show, Scandal. Spending three seasons on such a behemoth was a crash course on how a network television show is made; it wasn’t just about taking notes or getting lunches and coffee. I had the great fortune of watching ten plus writers craft an amazing, thrilling television experience. All of which, I believe, has only enhanced my own writing.
Prior to my time at Scandal, I was an Office P.A. for Asylum Entertainment. As an Office P.A., I had the luxury of not only handling the typical duties of helping around the office and making runs, but I was given the opportunity to help out with research and keeping the transcripts updated for 10 Things You Don’t Know About... with Henry Rollins for H2 and Hollywood Scandals for Reelz Channel.
Altogether my experiences have taught me the following: I am a team player who can work well with others, I can solve problems when problems arise, I have the ability to listen to others and take in their ideas or criticism without becoming defensive, I am able to tell a story through all forms of writing.
