About me
I’m highly optimistic, organized, and motivated. I am a film producer. My long-term goal is to create stories of self-acceptance and appreciation, which are ideas that I strongly believe in and want others to have faith in.
I’ve loved movies since I was young and discovered a desire to create them as I grew older.
During my career as a full time student in the cinema department at Virginia Tech, I attended production classes in which I took on the role of producer for several 3 to 5 minute shorts. I finished several films during my time there and received a B.A. in both Cinema and Communication Studies. As I realized my love for producing, the short films got longer. One of my films, Conduct Referral, was in the Richmond International Film Festival.
Due to my love of producing, I’ve sought more education and experience in this field. I have now completed an 8-month producing program at the New York Film Academy and am currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Producing at the Burbank campus of the New York Film Academy
I get joy out of it. Not all the films I’ve worked on were done for credit, but instead for my own practice. I never really knew what my strengths were, but producing came easy to me. I excelled at it without truly understanding why. So I researched and studied what a producer was and I came to realize that what I thought were just quirks or simple personality traits were actually transferable skills.
My favorite part about producing is the challenge. Each film can have its own unique process to get from just a few words on paper to an idea that lives and breaths through storytelling on a screen.
I find out what it takes to bring a project to fruition and I execute and properly delegate those tasks.
