About me
Lauren Pruitt (she/her) is a Colombian-American Director of Photography and Filmmaker versed in narrative and branded storytelling through motion pictures.She made her first short film at age 16 entitled “I Always Pictured You Outside” (26 min), studied Radio-TV-Film at the University of Texas at Austin (BA’ 09), and has worked in the camera department on nearly twenty feature films over the past decade. As a Cinematographer, Lauren strives to create a supportive environment for actors and directors achieve the raw performances that they dream of.
Lauren’s work has screened at various festivals including SXSW, Cannes Short Film Corner, and the Berlin Feminist Film Week, and she recently shot two feature films entitled “Lousy Carter” (2021, dir. Bob Byington) and “The Midnight Song” (2022, dir. Essam Osman).
Lauren is NYC-based and some recent clients include Condé Nast, Reebok, Target, and Spotify.
