About me
I am an award winning Filmmaker, passionate about the empowering effects of putting the camera in the hands of the people to bring about change in health, education and community environments through media activism!Throughout the last 10 years of extensive production experience making films and theatre in educational and community environments, I have maintained a creative, flexible and pragmatic approach which I combine with an undying verve and energy to achieve excellent results.
I have a real passion for the value of film-making to the community, together with a proven ability to motivate adults and children to ensure success.
Using film to tell stories and capture ideas gives immediate access to the empowering world of visual media, and participants' natural enthusiasms for getting their ideas onto film imbues them with the confidence to make effective and life-affecting projects.
Referees:
Jim Cliff, Aardvark Films:
"I have worked alongside Mark on many occasions, working together on short films, in film education, running a film festival and most recently using his services as a freelance cameraman. Mark is a talented, creative film maker and a patient, enthusiastic educator. He has an extensive knowledge of film techniques, styles and conventions and the confidence to use or subvert any of these to serve the project. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark for any film making endeavour."
Paula Power - Managing Director The Christopher Winter Project:
"Mark's techniques are excellent and show real understanding of the subject matter. He has a sensitive, patient approach that really works and gets great results, particularly when filming non-professionals."
Malcolm Wood, Bromley Mencap:
"Mark's involvement and flexibility was key to us securing funding from the Princes Trust. I would highly recommend Mark; he's very professional, value for money and willing to go that extra mile to make the product fit for purpose."
