About me
Matsy is a designer, artist & educator based in NYC’s East Village. With a focus on costuming and fashion, she has been the designer on feature films Marry Harry, Sleepaway Slasher, and A Case of Blue. Priding herself on her skills in building cohesive visual worlds, Matsy loves to create elevated branded content, colorful commercials, and high concept short films. Her styling work has additionally been seen in music videos such as Warriors for the band Too Many Zooz, Next Life for indie pop artist Rosie, and Grown Man by Margot & The Midnight Tenants, where she served as the production designer as well as costume and prop stylist. With a passion for inclusivity & sustainability, she is the resident designer for Bluelaces Theatre – presenting live performances tailor-made for people living with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental differences, and Exquisite Corpse Co. where she has created theatrical work and installation art pieces around the concepts of waste in the fast fashion industry and climate change, and is currently working with them to develop a new work that will tour Germany and North America. Other notable stage credits include designing operas, plays & musicals with organizations such as La Mama ETC, The Kennedy Center, The Barrow Group, Lincoln Center, HERE Arts Center, 59E59, The New Ohio, and A.R.T.
Outside of theatre and film, her work can be seen in content for magazines such as Seventeen & Dreamingless. Additionally, she is proudly a professor of Costume Design, Sewing/ Garment Construction, Fashion History, and other Collaborative and Creative Courses within Pace University’s Production & Design for Stage & Screen BFA Program. http://www.matsystinson.com
