About me
Hello, my name is Molly and I am enthusiastic and dedicated worker, always looking to prove myself. I am a graduate of Wimbledon College of Art with a BA in Costume Design. I have worked in several major productions costume designer and/or maker in London, New York and Los Angeles. As I designer I specialise in period costume, with a focus in 1930's to 1950's, as well as fantasy and sci-fi. I am also a skilled costume maker with an emphasis in leather work and textile manipulation. My most recent projects include designing for the play Back Porch, a queer retelling of William Inge's Picnic (1953), and Good Cuban Girls, a LMU thesis project currently making its rounds in the film festival circut.I love telling diverse stories, and working with directors and actors to find character quirks within each costume. I admire the individuality of all people and enjoy using clothing to bring these stories to life. Costumes are such an underrated part of film. We tell the stories behind the characters. Why did they choose to wear what they wore today? Where did they buy this item of clothes? Who are their fashion influences? How can a costume further the story arc of even the smallest character? If you also want to answer these questions about your characters, I would love to help you bring them to life.
