About me
Hi! I'm Natalie, and I'm a Motion Designer, Animator, Illustrator and Video Editor. In my 17 years in the field, I've worked on everything from marketing and social media videos to documentaries, commercials, installation video art, educational videos and explainers. My clients enjoy having a "one-stop shop" collaborator who can turn around video edits and add motion design seamlessly. I'm also well-versed in audio editing and color correction.I have a Master's Degree in Mass Communications (specializing in Documentary Production) from the University of Florida's Documentary Institute (they're now at Wake Forest). I love working on edits for documentary projects, and have experience in many types of editing styles.
I can take on animation/motion design projects-- including character animation-- from illustration and storyboarding all the way through final animation, and have a fantastic network of colleagues who I can hire to jump in with extra hands when needed.
I have experience in the entire production process from initial visual concepting to storyboarding to sourcing and shooting footage to polishing/editing, audio sweetening, color correction and export/render optimization. While I nowadays mainly stick to post-production, I have a broad understanding of the full process which helps me bring a robust level of knowledge and expertise to each project.
All of the components of video (visual, graphics, audio, coloring) combine to create something that makes us feel and connect. I love helping clients, brands and companies reach their target audiences with the perfect combination of style, branding and messaging.
Workflow information:
When you work with me on a project, you'll get my high level of professionalism and my creative and quirky eye. I put a lot of emphasis on providing a smooth, clearly outlined process with multiple checkpoints along the way to make sure we're staying on the same page and everything is aligning with your vision. Whether you're completely new to working with an animator, illustrator or editor or you've done many video projects already, we'll have friendly conversations and complete the project with flying colors (maybe literally!)
I have a strong background in both freelance and corporate/studio environments. I've worked with huge teams of creatives and also with individuals. I was the Senior Video Editor at Craftsy for 5 years (now Bluprint, an NBC company). I did a lot of long-form editing and short-form promo work there. I most recently worked at a small animation studio, Studio Hippo, doing animated pieces from explainer videos to social gifs to product promos.
