About me
I started out as a freelance journalist and photojournalist before progressing onto digital then broadcast development and production. In terms of development work, I have a journalistic sensibility but have applied this to a range of factual genres to original and successful effect. In the process I've also secured access to people making the headlines, VIP's, UK police forces, big name brands and charities. Several of my broadcast ideas have been commissioned and received funded development, some with tasters shot and cut by myself.I've been commissioned to produce digital content be that video, writing, photography or some combination of all three, for Barcroft Media, DFID, The Guardian, Telegraph, SaBRE, Sunday Times, BBC online magazine & The British Library.
I own professional video and stills equipment and edit on Premier.

Testimonials
I had the pleasure to work with Nick at 5 Productions. He was hard working and committed; a creative ideas person with a good sense of humour. He was pragmatic, worked well under pressure and was able to adapt across a broad range of genres from documentary to entertainment formats. He also shot and edited a great size tape single-handed.
Dean Palmer, Executive Producer
"Nick has worked with me as a Development AP. His background as a journalist means that he came to us with a range of relevant skills and good contacts. He knows what a good character and a story is and he has various angles to try and fish out and catch both. As well as having his own fresh ideas, he is a good person to brainstorm with to look at new ideas of ours and previous ideas with new eyes. He has a great eye for sourcing new onscreen talent and can bash off a good outline. He has no trouble seeing projects through the different perspective of the various channels we might pitch to."
