About me
I'm a composer, singer-songwriter and performer from Derby UK. Like a lot of musicians and performers, I found my passion for music at a young age. Starting to learn piano at the age of 6 and then developing an interest in composition at the age of 8 with writing 'Reflection of the River Swan'. As I grew older, my interest in learning more instruments grew taking on the Trombone and Guitar.Being a lover of music, my passion for music doesn't lie in a certain type of genre but for music itself, especially pieces and songs that convey a story, meaning or concept. With this in mind, I aim to write honest music from the heart not being caged to one genre.
My performance experience started when I was in secondary school at Landau Forte College. With whom (in the Youth Theatre), I had the opportunity to go on a performance tour to Switzerland performing Swiss Cheese and Old Swiss Clock. Swiss Cheese then got entered into the Schools proms for which we won an Outstanding Performance award at Birmingham's Adrian Bolt Hall and then went on to perform at Birmingham's Symphony Hall and The Royal Albert Hall in London.
Also with the Youth Theatre, we took a piece called Out of Darkness to the Royal Opera House in London. Many other shows and performances were performed with LFYT, but those are just a small highlighted selection. Also with my theatre background, I performed in many main house productions at Derby Playhouse, these included: A Christmas Carol, Hooray for Hollywood, Animal Farm, The Tempest and Flying High.
During my final year of A Level, I wrote my first production score for an adapted version of Bertolt Brecht's 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle'. This was performed live by myself and my PA Class.
Along with my solo project music and my theatre and film compositions, I am also in a power metal band called Aeterna for which I sing and play keys. Also, whilst at university I played the Trombone and sung backing vocals for a project ska/punk band Albino Greenfly who performed Reel Big Fish covers and new original material.
