About me
As a lifelong lover of writing and filmmaking, it made sense to continue these passions into my professional life. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in film production from UCA Farnham in 2015, and over the three years of the course I developed not only my technical abilities at all stages of the production process, but also gained vital practical experience in multiple fields. I specialised in cinematography during my course, which allowed me to have practical experience on multiple short films, visits to rental companies, the opportunity to be taught by industry legends, and crucially the freedom to experiment on our own films and gain valuable experience doing so.One of the projects I am most proud of to date is my work on the award winning documentary "The Last Knife Sharpener". As it was a small, five man crew, we were all heavily involved from the conception of the idea right through production, however my main role was that of assistant cinematographer, and editor. We travelled to Portugal for the production, where I gained valuable experience in helping to run an international production, and having to face all the challenges that come with that. I assisted in filming much of the footage, as well as being responsible for backing up and logging footage on the road while also carrying out rough cuts in Premiere Pro, before cutting the final film in Avid Media Composer.
In my final year I successfully submitted a script to be made as a final graduation film, and developed the script through to it's final draft, while also helping to establish a great crew and organise the production.
Since my course ended I have continued to develop these skills by editing screenplays, most recently for a BFI funded film.
I am looking to continue honing my skills by working with talented, creative people, and hope to offer a great deal to any future project I work on.
