About me
When I was a teenager I was a member of my school's theatre group. Having been more famous for my outfits (I was part of the New Romantic/New Wave scene) than for my acting skills I ended up dressing & styling the actors. This kindled my love for costume, theatre, film and all things "Make Believe". After school I did not have the opportunity to train in costume, instead I started to work in the financial industry as a foreign exchange trader. I had to adapt quickly to the fast pace of the dealing room and learn to interact with people from different cultures and work with extremely difficult characters. It made me used to work long, irregular hours and I learned to have the stamina and ability to work under extreme pressure. I am highly organised, efficient and reliable.Outside of this work I improved my costume making skills by taking classes in sewing, pattern cutting, tailoring and corset making. In 2016 I have been offered a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for their postgraduate course in Theatre Costume. My special interests are corsetry, tailoring and breaking down costumes.I will graduate in July 2018. I am interested in getting work experience in film, in particular period, fantasy or science fiction.
