BGtv July 2011 – Present
My position is as a freelance camera operator. I travel to championship Gymnastic events and film them taking place. The programme is streamed live over the internet which means that my skills at working under pressure and to a deadline have increased greatly. My camera skills have also further developed during the time I have worked for the company. The position has also developed my skills in working as part of a team/crew and I have also learned a great deal about rigging up wires and equipment.
UKXC Media March 2010 – September 2010
During my time at UKXC Media I gained a vast range of skills and also further developed existing skills. I learned to use the software Quark Express to create the company’s Bi Monthly magazine. I also helped to maintain the company website and to upload new content to the site. I edited footage of motorbike events into short videos ready to be uploaded to the website.
Squirrel Vision Productions - September 2010
This role consisted of being a production runner during the film shoot of the short movie ‘How to become a criminal mastermind’. During filming I helped set up cameras and lighting, assisted with continuity set ups and also aided the production assistants with tasks when required. From this role I increased my experience of shooting on location outdoors.
Leo Media Entertainment Group - May 2008-September 2008
My position at Leo Media was as a development assistant which involved me contacting Film company producers with information regarding client’s scripts. This helped to has increase my communication skills due to the fact that I was contacting important professionals within the industry. I also proof read writers scripts and had to write reports to crituqe and analyse the scripts in order to ensure they were well developed and well created.
Project Monkey Productions - March 2008 (Day shoot)
My role for Project Monkey Productions was as a production runner. During my role I worked on the production of the music video shoot for new boy band Billiam. I was in charge of managing the extras. This included ensuring they were in the correct outfits and ready on time, ensuring any help they needed was given and sorting out transportation to the different sets and filming locations. I also had to ensure the nightclub location lighting was ready by liaising with the lighting technician and that the graphics were ready on the clubs TV screens.
Glamba CD Design - June 2007
I worked freelance for the theatrical percussion music group and designed the Inlay and cover for their CD titled Live at the Artrix. This increased my existing Photoshop skills and also increased my knowledge and skills of working to meet a clients needs.
Adkins Medical Group plc - August 2007
As part of a production team I helped produce a promotional video on location for Adkins medical Group. During filming I undertook the role of production assistant and I was the editor during postproduction. This Increased my experience in working to a clients needs and my editing experience using final cut pro.
Lucid Rockumentary and Music Video - September 2007
As part of a team I helped produce a thirty-five minute documentary and accompanying music video for an unsigned band. During production I undertook the position of production assistant and camera operator. I was also the editor during post production. From this I gained the experience of being part of a production company working to a schedule and deadline. I also increased my skills in using Avid editing software.
Birmingham Post and Mail – Trinity Mirror March 2006-August 2007
My role at this company was a back checking researcher. This involved me telephoning members of the public to collect data regarding receiving free news publications. Working with this company helped me developed my communication skills and customer service skills it also gave me an insight into media and marketing.
