About me
I'm a performer/actress with a background in dance/movement and am a very experienced singer with an ongoing comedy/music alter-ego I perform regularly as at all kinds of events, and make my own work for, however I'm much more versatile than that one character.Skills
Highlights
-
I was trained in a small arts team that created large-scale events (sometimes for audiences of 3000 people, with major health & safety considerations, such as pyrotechnics alongside the public) and am used to working sometimes as part of a well-oiled machine, and sometimes running major sections of it. The company is called Zap Art, and I was a trainee producer when they were selected as one of the outdoor producers for the cultural Olympiad events in London in 2012, which was a great working experience (alongside the English National Ballet at outdoor lido's in London). Most recently I was the company manager for a WW1 site-specific outdoor theatre project which involved looking after the large community cast and integrating them into the main show structure, facilitating their rehearsals in the run-up to shows etc. I am a creative myself, so I am particularly comfortable working alongside technically-orientated creatives/videographers etc. and facilitating their work in a practical way. I am not technical myself, but am not afraid of that side of things, I work very easily with people who are technically inclined (eg I used to run the Film Screenings for Brighton Filmmakers coalition) I also programmed and ran an event for a new furniture company, Xobo, as a promotional event for the new furniture line, but with a creative component to the evening. I enjoy running events because giving an audience/group of people the opportunity to have the best experience possible is always my goal (and absolutely the same for anyone I work with, which has regularly been feedback when I've worked on a project) I'm organised, I think quickly and put 100% (usually more) into my work. I also have more complete details of my work on a CV and Linkedin profile
