About me
So, in a nutshell, I have worked in activity centre management for a few years. I started as an outdoor instructor, and worked my way up onto the operations team of a major outdoor company. I left and went to work on a cruiseliner as Operations Manager of an outdoor adventure centre on board. I have had dealing with all aspects of both businesses, from personnel and recruitment, logistics, financial decision making/records, People management, vehicle management. The Centre Manager role I held in France was one of those where generally I had to do everything, right down to if one of the tented villages lost power, I've be outside rewiring plugs myself if I had to!Every place I have worked, and each job I have held has always been a troubleshooting position. Essentially, if something needed doing/fixing/magically materialising, I would find a way to make things happen, always. Whether I had short notice, budget contraints, sensitive issues to face, I am the person who will make something impossible happen......not overly sure how at times, but I'm determined that's for sure. This is where I am at my best, and it's something I enjoy.
I've had a bit of feedback from people saying that working in TV production would be somewhere I could really shine, and learn a new skillset, due to my desire to not have a standard 9-5 job, and my ability to adapt to pretty much any environment with ever changing circumstances.
I've shaken things up a bit already. I recently set myself up as a freelance voiceover artist. I record and edit from home around my full time job. I don't have too many credits to my name yet, but my biggest one so far was a recording for Amazon a few days ago. Others are a Norwegian news report translated into english, voicemail projects, four audiobooks, and four separate characters for two videogames.
I can take a hand to most new tasks, get along famously with my co-workers, and I have a lot of enthusiasm. The only thing I need now is the environment to show what I can do.
